Please Read Psalms 42:1-11 below.

One of my favorite songs is fashioned after this first verse...most of us know it... As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after thee.... My spouse always bawls like a baby when hearing this song...the two of us...longing after Him...quite a sight...The tears flow effortlessly, streaming down a salty trail upon our cheeks, finding our mouths and basting our tongues with the love we share together for the Lord. We are in the foregound, worshipping God, loving Him, ministering unto Him our sacrifices of praise...

However, in the background for some of us, there are mounds of troubles that the devil heaps upon us...your car needs fixing, the mortgage is due, new medical bills are mounting, the other car has a license to be renewed, the refrigerator needs to be stocked, and the freezer is cooling air...and yet you continue to praise Him.

The enemy tells us, where is your God? How are you going to pay the medical bills, you can't have all those tests because you can't afford to, you can't...you shouldn't...you won't be able to...all sorts of negative talk bombards our souls.

Psalms 42
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.When shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night,While they continually say to me,"Where is your God?"
4 When I remember these things,I pour out my soul within me.For I used to go with the multitude;I went with them to the house of God,With the voice of joy and praise,With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan,And from the heights of Hermon,From the Hill Mizar.
7 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me.
8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,And in the night His song shall be with me--a prayer to the God of my life.
9 I will say to God my Rock,"Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"
10 As with a breaking of my bones,My enemies reproach me,While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

In times of feast we worshipped and praised God, leading others to the fountain to drink, but sometimes, even the leaders go through hard times.

David was a leader, who led his people to the temple to worship and he enjoyed the dance, the song, the music that he offered up to God. Yet here he is, not able to give that which belongs to God in His house of holiness because of the pilgrimage he is forced to endure.

We, like David, must talk to our souls and admonish its behavior to become cast down and disquieted within us. Our burdens are not to be kept but to be shared and cast upon the Lord. Our distress as we continue to languish in self-pity and self-will, will show on your face.

Do you not know that God is able?
Have you not learned of His salvation and His mighty power to act on your behalf?
Has not God given you the gift of Hope, called Jesus to bring to you a complete and perfect end to your race?
Are you not victorious in all things because of our Lord?

David, this humble but brilliant man, always humbled himself before God ...knowing that he was faithful to praise, worship only one God, the Living God...he spoke to his soul to encourage himself and then he reminded God of his faithfulness. This is a key to getting deliverance from out our circumstances - keeping humble before the Lord and remaining faithful during the good and the bad times.

Deep calls to deep as the noise of your waterfalls; all your waves and billows have gone over me AMEN! The Holy Spirit hears our cry; He is like that powerful, mighty rushing water that falls from the heavens without abandonment. The call from deep within our belly to the depths of our Lord is often necessary to stir up the Holy Spirit's presence within us. It is an exercise in faith, in hope that He will respond to our distressed call.

The pulling of the devil within our circumstances can be overwhelming, causing us to mourn and be oppressed by tempting us to breakdown our faith and our hope in God's saving grace. BUT DON'T LET THE DEVIL DO IT!

The Rock of your salvation is steady and able to bring to you the waters of life, refreshing your spirit man, giving you strength to endure the paths of life. Cry out to Him! He will hear your cries ... amen and amen.
